MR JP Madden

I am Mr Madden, Headteacher. Having undertaken various leadership roles in education and in industry, it is a pleasure to lead Egerton High School in the next chapter of its development. Adopting the most successful philosophy and strategies, we have experienced great success with our young people, and we aim to achieve even greater success in the future. We believe strongly in our young people: they are our future. We examine the most successful people on the planet, and how they have overcome their difficulties to reach such a position. Often this involves teaching our young people about their own psychology and how to control their fears and emotions in order to effect better outcomes for themselves. We teach our young people how to lead themselves to a bright future, focusing on themselves as an individual, and rejecting a culture which seeks to compare them with others. I am proud of the work we have undertaken so far, and am very much looking forward to the new developments which include expanding the school site, and adding a Learning Bus.

Mrs C Oultram

I am Mrs Oultram, the Deputy Headteacher and the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). It is a real privilege to be working with such vibrant and talented young people in our small setting, catering to each one in a bespoke way. In my role as the DSL it is really important that I keep everyone safe and I work closely with outside agencies to ensure this happens. Egerton is a great school, full of enthusiasm and challenge. We teach the students how important having a strong value set is and about being decent citizens. Here, at Egerton, we are truly student centered, creating in them a drive for future ambition. The future is not about their past and the no nonsense, “no victim” approach is one we find effective. Our students are encouraged to achieve their full potential with an “anything is possible” philosophy and to have high aspirations too. We are proud of our achievements and the positive relationships we build.

Miss K Watts

I am Miss Watts, I have several roles within our school, the Assistant Headteacher and SENCO, which bring lots of variety to my day at school. I have been the SENCO here at Egerton for several years now and have held the National SENCO Award since 2016.It is a real privilege to be working with all our students and their families to support them in achieving their future aspirations. I lead the Maths Department and ensure that all our students receive the Maths’ skills and qualifications they will need to succeed beyond school. My other role within school is the Designated Teacher for all our looked after children and work with many different agencies to support them. At Egerton we value all our students, their differences and share our values with them so that they are resilient enough to succeed far beyond their school years. Preparing them for the events in life that will test them at many different stages and develop them as successful individuals.

Mrs J Larkin

I’m Mrs Larkin and I’m the School Business Manager at the school. It is my job to ensure that the budget is handled effectively and to provide guidance on matters such as Health and Safety across the school. I am also the exams officer which means that I am responsible for ensuring that all students are entered for exams each year. I also ensure that students receive their results in August.
I have worked at the school since 2006 and I enjoy my job and watching our students mature and develop as they work their way through the school. I also enjoy my role as part of the mentor team to our year 11 students.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading and have got two dogs that keep me very busy.

Miss R Grogan

I have worked at Egerton High School for over 5 years and am part of the school’s Senior Leadership Group.
In my role as Head of Nurture, I promote nurturing approaches throughout the school environment and focus on identifying and supporting the social, emotional and developmental needs of students. With the right support in place, students will benefit from enhanced teaching and learning experiences and achieve further healthy outcomes. I am leading the school in achieving National Nurturing Schools accreditation.
I also manage Egerton’s therapeutic curriculum offer and deliver therapeutic intervention to groups and individuals throughout school. I look after Toby, the school’s therapy dog, who often supports students alongside me.

Mr M Till

I am the KS3 Assistant SENDCO, working with Years 7-9, supporting parents and other professionals for ongoing support for all our pupils in line with their EHCPs. We work on and offsite with multiple agencies to support the individual requirements for all our pupils, including the transition from primary or other settings into our nurture provision.

Mrs O McCormack

I am the KS4 Assistant SENDCO working with Year 10 and Year 11 students. My role is to support our students, parents and carers to ensure that their education needs are met. I work on and off site with multiple agencies to provide on going support. I will provide Careers Information, Advice and Guidance for our students alongside the curriculum and I will work to secure successful Post 16 placements.

Miss S Moore

I am the school’s Attendance Officer. I work with parents and carers to support our students to attend school as much as possible. I am based in school for the majority of the day, ensuring I welcome students into school in the morning and register their attendance. In the event I don't receive a telephone call explaining an absence, I contact our students parents or carers to check on the students wellbeing and understand the reason for absence and offer support where appropriate. Should a student’s attendance fall below expectations I will visit students and their families in their homes to discuss  how we can work together to overcome this. I invite parents and carers in for meetings in instances where attendance doesn't improve and Create a plan that fits their child's needs is agreed.

Miss B Gardner

My name is Miss Gardner, I’m the Admin Support in the front office.  I am the first port of call.  I meet and greet visitors and parents for meetings and various other situations that arise throughout the school day.  I provide support to the Business and Finance Officer and all other members of the staff team, which include Headteacher, Deputy head, The SENCO and Assistant SENDCO’s, Attendance Officer, Care Team, Teachers and Teaching Assistants.  My days vary from dealing with deliveries into school and transport issues for pupils.

Miss S White

Hi, I’m Miss White and I work in the school office for two days a week. I answer the telephone, dealing with any queries from parents etc and provide support to all other members of the school.

Mr I Bennett

Hi, I am Mr Bennett and I am the Head of PE and Head of Duke of Edinburgh here at Egerton High School. This is my 7th year at this fabulous school and I really enjoy working with the incredible students in PE. I have been a sports fanatic most of my life and started playing football myself at the age of 10. I spent 7 years at Manchester City from the age of 13-20 and 3 of these were as a professional footballer. I learnt a lot during my time there and I hope to use my experience to help nurture and teach our young people at Egerton. I class myself as a true professional who shows relentless dedication and commitment to my job and I hope to inspire many of our students to enjoy sport and continue participating beyond their school years.I have created a fun, vibrant and safe learning environment in PE and I have high expectations of every student in lessons. They are encouraged to be confident in themselves and use every mistake to motivate them to be the best they can be. The minimum expectation I have for students is to put their maximum effort into lessons. I have a phrase in PE which is 'we can't teach effort'. However, we can teach all the fundamentals of sports but without effort this simply won't be achievable.

Miss J Fuller

I am part of the Senior Leadership Group here at Egerton; I teach English and oversee whole school Interventions and Progress. My role is to develop systems that effectively assess, monitor and track students' progress so that they achieve the very best outcomes. I work closely with staff across all departments to ensure that we deliver 'Quality First' teaching in all lessons and remove any barriers to learning. I lead whole-school interventions and co-ordinate small group interventions for students who may need extra specialised support. 

Mrs K Smith

I am a Maths teacher and Nurture Lead. My nurture group involves working closely with parents and carers to update them of their child’s progress across all aspects from academic achievements right through to behaviour around school.I am also involved with Maths Intervention sessions, and I am starting to work on our data and tracking of assessments.

Mr J Madden

I am Mr Madden, EV Lead. In my tenure leading the EV department (also refereed to as the Exceptional Needs Department), I have promoted and pursued strategies that aim to nurture Resilience and practicality, through a variety of therapeutic approaches. Egerton is a fantastic school with students nurtured to see themselves as more than a victim; Their life is a series of experiences they can change whenever they like. In my other role on the Therapeutics team, we explore how strategies can be developed that meet the holistic needs of our students. Since taking lead of the EV department, EV now has two spaces: EV1 (Years 7,8,9) and EV2 (Years 10,11). EV is a specialist approach and takes very special people to work within it. EV students are encouraged to understand and challenge themselves to pursue a positive impactful outcome. I am proud of the accomplishments of the EV department and look forward to the new developments including expansion of the EV department and new alternative therapeutic strategies.

Mr E Williams

I am the KS3 Science Teacher and Nurture Lead for our Year seven students. As Science Teacher it’s my goal to deliver engaging lessons that provide the basic scientific knowledge that is vital to facilitate an understanding of the world. Practical and theoretical sessions are designed to be relatable and interesting and ultimately instil a sense of passion for the subject. My role as a Nurture Lead allows me work closely with our youngest students and their guardians, guiding and teaching them the school values and providing important social skills that will allow them to be successful members of our school community.

Mrs Corcoran

Hi my name is Mrs Corcoran, and I am a nurture TA for our year 7s. I provide support emotionally and academically for the students. I work closely along side Mr Williams who is the nurture lead for our year 7s. We make a great team, and our students feel safe and welcome. Throughout the day I attend to our school chickens Tilly and Sparkle. I sometimes ask students to help me with this during Enrichment time on a Friday. 

Mr J Partington

I have worked at our school for 6 years now and i have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them. I am currently a part of the Care Team along with Mr Shipley but I have also been employed in a number of different roles here at Egerton. These include teaching PSHE, teaching assistant, and attendance officer among others.
I have been working with young people since 1998 in various settings and been involved in a many of projects. I was the outreach project manager for a nation wide youth organisation for 8 years,along with overseeing and facilitating various projects such as Duke of Edinburgh,Drug and alcohol awareness workshops, residentials, and managing satellite youth centers, to name just a few.
I feel that my experience in this field has equipped me with the ideal kind of skill set to provide our students with the learning experience they deserve and need, and to equip them with the appropiate social skills in preparation for adult life.

Miss C Donlan 

Hi my name is Miss Donlan, my role here is to support students throughout their day. I am also a Nurture TA with one of our year 9 classes. During the day, I support students across all year groups. I offer emotional as well as academic support. We create magic every day and ensure students are safe, happy and thriving.   

Mr T Spence

I am Mr Spence and I teach Personal & Social Development (PSD) to all students as well as being a Nurture Lead in the school's Growth Zone. I promote nurturing approaches throughout the school environment and focus on identifying and supporting the social, emotional and developmental needs of students. With the right support in place, students will benefit from enhanced teaching and learning experiences and achieve further healthy outcomes.

Mrs E Briggs

Hi I’m Mrs Briggs, a trained Set Designer, specialising in Scenic Design and I’m a qualified Art teacher. i have completed the foundation course in Art Therapy and I am currently in my third year level 4 diploma in counselling skills and theory (DIP CST course). I do this in between planning, marking and teaching. I am Mental Health First Aider and trainee psychotherapist. I love my job and enjoy researching new exciting topics for our students. I like to mix it up all the time.

Miss S Whitfield

I am the Art Teaching Assistant at the school. My qualifications are in Fine Art and Creative Digital Media. Since gaining my PGCE teaching qualification in 2010 I have worked in schools and colleges within my specialism of Art & Design.

Miss N Winn

Hi! My name is Miss Winn & I am a Maths Teaching Assistant at EHS. I work alongside two Maths teachers. Working with students to achieve in their Maths is a challenging task but can be so rewarding. I always say that Maths is the best subject & is the only one that counts! My hobbies include working on my allotment, growing a variety of fruit & veg, & visiting places around Europe.

Mr L Cox

Hi my name is Mr Cox I’m a KS4 Nurture Lead with a Year 11 group, a teacher of History, I support with the Duke of Edinburgh provision and I coordinate the Senior Student Leadership Team which has planned and delivered many successful events for the school. I really enjoy my roles here at Egerton and have seen massive progress in the time I have been here. Everyday is full of variety and can be challenging but the rewards are always worth it!

Miss P Hollowood

Hi My name is Miss Hollowood, I have been working at Egerton for just over a year now, I teach Maths alongside Phonics throughout KS3. I Support the SSLT in planning events and I am the Nurture Support in year 11. I really enjoy working here at Egerton and our values show how strong we are as a school!

Ms L Wilson

Hi, I am Miss Wilson. I have a degree in Psychology, which I am able to put into practise in my work at Egerton High using, such as positive psychology. I work in the Area (Egerton's alternate provision for bespoke learning) providing 1:1 support to young people who find the main body of the school challenging. My role allows me to support young people with any problems they may face in school or out of school, in particular checking in on their welfare. I also work with young people in the main body who need 1:1 specialised intervention.Ms L Wilson

Ms S Martin

I teach PSHE across the school and I am a year 9 Nurture Lead. With my teaching role, I aim for the students to leave school with an ASDAN Qualification in Personal and Social Development at Level 2. I cover topics such as Healthy Living which includes Drug Education, Sex Education & Relationships and Nutrition. I also focus on a Careers unit and hold mock job interviews, write CVs and look at how to manage money in the future. I hope my lessons can provide life skills and expose the students to knowledge they can use to help improve their own lives now, and in the future.  In my Nurture lead role, I work closely with the students in my class and their parents/carers to ensure we have good communication and offer any support that is needed. 

Mr A Jukes

Hello my name is Mr Jukes I am in my second year at EHS as the Humanities teacher. I have a MA in history and look to bring that depth of knowledge to the pupils at the school. We offer a wide range and in-depth curriculum which is always developing to help the students understand how the world has come to the point it has. As a team we offer each of the students the support they need to reach their potential.


Miss R Smith

I have worked here at EHS since 2018. I truly believe that there is greatness within all of our young learners and that the nurturing approach of the staff here allows them to believe in themselves and realise their true potential. The students of EHS are brilliantly inquisitive and inspiring young people. It is a pleasure to work at EHS and being a part of their journey.

I'm currently leading The Growth Zone. Here we design bespoke timetables and create individualised strategies to assist our young people with self-regulation and personal development. Our team works closely with the students, delivering therapeutic interventions alongside the national curriculum. Students in The Growth Zone are encouraged to adopt mindful strategies assisting them to mood regulate. The aim is to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to rejoin the main offer of the school. 

Miss J Wallwork

My name is Miss Wallwork, I’m one of the English teachers here at Egerton High School. My role is to assist and enable our young people to achieve their highest potential at GCSE and to promote and inspire a love for the English subject. I aim to encourage our young people to read for pleasure, finding the joy in stories and creativity. Reading interventions take place throughout the week, which I support students with. This enables them to access the wider curriculum, building confidence, thus motivating overall class engagement. I am also a Nurture Lead within our Growth Zone, here I build positive relationships and offer support to some of our more vulnerable students. I have worked here for four wonderful years. I started my journey as a 1:1 support assistant, for the past two years, I have been teaching English. Previously, I have worked in the youth justice system. My belief is that with the right encouragement, motivation and hard work, our young people will flourish.

Miss C Phillips

My name is Miss Phillips and I am a school cook and cleaner. I have been working at Egerton High School for 14 years now. I make sure that both pupils and staff are getting well-fed. I love my job. In my spare time I spend time with my beloved grandson.

Mr D Chantler

I am a qualified Crafts person and Production Manager. I have worked in many engineering and fabrication/welding companies. I do specialise in heavy engineering, welding and various manufacturing practises. I also have experience in house renovations. I do teach VOC here at Egerton as I do have PTLLS Teaching qualification. My hobbies are Jujitsu and street defence.

Miss P Makles

Egerton High School is my first working experience within education sector. I am a qualified interpreter and have a degree in Photography. I am working as 1:1 support for the most challenging pupils at school and making sure that they are listened to and that their needs are met. I am also running school’s website, Twitter account and marketing side.
