Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, visiting Egerton High School

Egerton High School were pleased to welcome Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, into School today. Andy met our Headteacher, Paul Madden, the Leadership Team and toured our facilities, including our Think Zone, Learning Bus, Nurture Classroom, Art Therapy room, and Gallery. He had the opportunity to meet and talk with the Student Senior Leadership Team (SSLT), Year 7 and Year 9 students.

After that, the SSLT engaged him in a Question Time debate. They have covered several current issues, including knife crime in Greater Manchester and the Low Emissions Zone.

As it was Success Week in School, Andy then inspired us all with how he had successfully become a Member of Parliament before progressing to the role of Mayor of Greater Manchester. Many thanks, Andy, for a truly inspirational visit today!
